Samaki Transworld Links was started in 1969 as a seafood exporting company in India. Overtime, it because the leading exporter and importer of food materials and today, after thirty nine glorious years of operations, it has got its factories in India, Tanzania and Switzerland and sourcing office in China. In India, Samaki has got four associated factories in Mumbai, Veraval and Kochi fro where many varieties of seafood is exported to Europe, USA, Mauritius and Iran. Main items of export include squid, cuttlefish, shrimps, octopus, tuna, ribbonfish, king fish, fish fillets, reef cod, red snapper, sardines, mackerel, and other variets of fishes like parrot fish, green job, emperor, pomfret, croaker, big eye illisha, corvina, mahi mahi, baracuda, etc. In Bukoba, Tanzania we have a unit that manufactures and export nile perch fillets to Mauritius and Europe. Starting 2007, we have a tie up with a Chinese company that supply tilapia fish to our buyers in Mexico and US and we supply seafood to them for the Chinese market like ribbonfish, kati, croaker, pomfret, octopus and cuttlefish. Starting 2008, we have set up our buying office in Switzerland with a view to source good quality processed food products and seasoning. Apart from that, we have been exporting spices and seasonings to Mauritius also. We are in collaboration with the biggest supermarket chain in Mauritus called Happy World Ltd. and we have over 30% market share of seafood sold in Mauritius.
